Prayers for the Oliver Family

Friends and Family,
Please join me in prayer for the Oliver Family.  I went to high school with Shawna and I found out this last year that they live around the corner from us.  She works at Swann Animal Clinic where we take our dogs.  She is a precious and strong woman of God!  Visit her family blog, Life with the Olivers, so that we can join her in praying for her precious baby Seton for the next 50 days.

Pray for complete healing for Seton and strength for Shawna and Zane.  What an awesome God we serve and I know prayers make a difference.  Join me in praying!

ICE CREAM!

YEAH!  Gage finally ate ice cream and he LOVED it!  My mom, Gage and I had stopped by Orange Leaf and got some ice cream after our trek through Hobby Lobby and Micheal's.  Gage normally never eats ice cream and won't even try it.  We were driving home and I hear Gage in the backseat saying "Try." So my mom gave him a little bit of her chocolate ice cream and he went to town!  He asked for more and more.  Even after his nap, he went straight to the freezer to get the rest of the ice cream we didn't eat and that was his afternoon snack.  I'm so glad that he loves ice cream!  It's such a yummy treat!

Digging In!

What a face!  It's COLD Momma!
Want some?

The Flashlight Fixer

Gage loves to play with flashlights.  He has figured out how to turn the flashlight on and then unscrew the entire flashlight and take it apart.  He'll bring it to us afterwards saying, "broke" because it's now in separated pieces.  He is so funny!  Just recently he truly did break the flashlight.  He took it ALL apart.  Thankfully Joe was able to put it back together and they had a little bit of flashlight fun!  I call Joe "The Flashlight Fixer"

I heard them playing in our room and Gage was giggling so I had to see what was going on.  They were inside our room with the lights out playing with the flashlight.  I just love this picture of them.  So precious!

God's NOT DEAD!!!

WOW! If you have never heard this song, YOU HAVE TO!!  It is the new single by Newsboys, God's Not Dead.  My favorite part of this song is the chorus....

MY GOD'S NOT DEAD!! HE'S SURELY ALIVE!  HE'S LIVING ON THE INSIDE, ROARING LIKE A LION!

Glorious Day!

Music...it speaks to my soul.  The words of songs awaken my spirit!  Music is one way I communicate with God.  I hear him speaking directly to me and I hear it all of the time.  One of my favorite Christian groups to listen to is Casting Crowns.  I love how they glorify God with their songs.  Their music reaches the depths of my heart and speaks so clearly to me.  There are so many songs I want to share with you but today I share Glorious Day.

And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Acts 2:21

Saturday Morning Breakfasts

I love Saturday mornings!  I love waking up knowing we don't have to go to work and we can stay in our pjs all day and I get to make a yummy breakfast for my family.  Our favorite is pancakes and sausage!  I found a pancake batter that I love (yes, it's silly to love a pancake batter, but they make GREAT pancakes).  My dad was actually the one who started me on this pancake batter as well as pancake breakfasts.  :-)  I remember growing up having pancakes for breakfast on the weekends and my dad always make the BEST pancakes!  They were perfect!  A special treat he did was make Mickey Mouse pancakes.  Those were so fun!  Now, I get to pass the Mickey Mouse tradition on to Gage.  Such fun times!

Today was extra special because we ate breakfast at GG and GP's house!  GP (aka PP) made the pancakes today and they were wonderful as always!  Gage and I ate up every bite and we ate and ate!  GP also has the best coffee!  It's soooo good!  It's always fun at their house because I love seeing Gage play with GG and GP and he just brings such joy to all of our lives.

I'll post pictures later.  For some reason none of my pictures want to post correctly.

The Haircut!

Well, we did it!  We finally cut Gage's hair.  We LOVE it curly and long but it was just getting to be too much.  In his face all of the time and at night, Gage and I were battling TANGLES!  Yuck!  So, yesterday we headed out to get a haircut.  The pictures below will tell it all....Gage was NOT real happy to get a haircut.

Sitting down for the haircut.  By the look on his face you know there is no excitement there.
Let the cutting begin..this is only wetting his hair right now.  See...NOT excited!
Will candy make me happier??  I think not.
Please let me go!

Daddy's turn to hold him
Finally!! Home, happy and playing with the iPad.  :)

Prayers for William

Friends,
Please pray for William Taylor.  He is a 4 year old boy in Amarillo, TX, who was diagnosed in September with 2 brain aneurysms that have been deemed inoperable.  I first heard about William from an email that was sent out to some of my schools.  I was touched instantly because now being a mother, I know the love that there is for our children.  It's a love like no other.  I pray for this family daily and ask that you do as well.  You can read about William Taylor here,  "A Christmas Miracle for William" or follow the Facebook page Prayers for William.  Please pray for this precious family!

My Word for 2012

I was reading a post today on a blog that I recently found and it was talking about choosing a word for 2012.  That got me thinking about the word of the year for me and it is FAITH!  Being that I was recently baptized this is a perfect word for me.  I have come to understand that Faith is very real and active!  I can't just sit around waiting for things to happen to me I have to have Faith in God and act upon His Word.  When we give ourselves truly to God and submit to HIM, our lives change.

What is FAITH?  Now Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.  Hebrews 11:1

FAITH is Active! Faith is acting upon God's Word.  We can't just hope and pray that something will happen or change for us, we must have Faith and believe that it has already happened!  "Have FAITH in God" Jesus answered.  "I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go throw yourself into the sea, and does not doubt in heart but believe that what he says will happen, it will be done for him.  Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it and it will be yours" Mark 11:22-24

I encourage each of you to choose a Word for 2012 and find scripture to back that word up.  If you aren't sure of a word right away, pray about it.  Ask the Holy Spirit to give you a word. He'll give you the perfect word because it is from God and God is NEVER wrong.

Remember...
FAITH comes by hearing and by hearing the Word of God.  Romans 10:17

Giddy Up!

One of the gifts that Gage for Christmas was a horse, the size of a real pony!  It's life size I tell you!!  His eyes got so big when he first saw the horse and he loves it!  We can even get on there with him.  It's too fun!  The first time riding it he said "Yee Haw!"  That made us all laugh!  Where he learned that we will never know but he says it all the time now.

First time on the horse!

Happy New Year!!

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun. 2 Corinthians 5:17

Happy New Year everyone!  I just love new years because it's a time when we can change things we didn't like from the previous year, get organized and try new things!  The most important thing to do is get deeper in the Word than the previous year.  I'm proud to say that I was baptized November 5, 2011 and my life has changed!  I know have Christ Jesus in me more than ever before and I BELIEVE!  I've always believed in God but now the HIS Word is more alive in me than ever before.  It's AMAZING!  I encourage each of you to get into the Word this year and let God move in your life.  Trust HIM, let him be your leader.  Love HIM daily, be in His Word DAILY!  Never let it out of your heart.

I'm so excited to start 2012 loving God and having an AMAZING husband and son!  I am so blessed and I am shouting it from the mountaintop!  Love to you all!
